If your iPhone says "pairing unsuccessful" when trying to pair your phone to it, try the below network settings reset to clear any bluetooth bugs on your phone.
Network & Bluetooth Reset: If nothing else works, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Do not reset your entire phone, as this may clear your entire phone data. Note that this will erase all your saved Wi-Fi passwords, but it clears out corrupted Bluetooth caches.
